The number 1 question I receive in my treatment room is...
Can you teach my [Partner} how to massage me?
Is there a class I can take to help my [Partner] understand what I like?
How do I tell my [Partner] what I like without feeling embarrassed?
The number one concern I receive is...
My [Partner] doesn't know how to touch me.
It is too hard / too light / not enough / too much... You understand the picture.
Other questions I have been posed:
Can you teach me some moves I can use with my [Partner]?
Can you teach me a few relaxation techniques and stretches I can do at home?
The Short Answer is YES. I can.
Where does one go to learn how to just BE with a significant other? We aren't psychic, are we? Here we are, trying to guess and assume what our partner's needs are. How about a safe learning space, a guided conversation to gain knowledge of not only understanding how to communicate with each other, but learn something new about YOURSELF and YOUR PARTNER? How about an experience, a dedicated class you can take with a partner to practice, connect, and enjoy each others company? THAT is what I, Sahana Braswell at INDIVA Spa & Wellness have developed!
THE PARTNER BODYWORK EXPERIENCE
I have spent most of my life studying and trying to understand human behavior and the importance of human touch and connection. I have learned something very important, especially after what we all went through from 2019 through early 2022. The COVID-19 Society Quarantine and SHUT DOWN impacted our human race so deep that we will be dealing with the repercussions for years to come. Humans need each other. We are not built to be alone in solitary confinement. If we are married or reside with our partner, we find out so much about them as if we are stranded on a desert island. Together. With No One Else. My synopsis...
If you and your partner do not balance each other out and bring happiness and joy to each others lives...there is a disconnect.
Isolation is possible but not life-giving to us. Human to human relationships are vital. I have always been fascinated by committed couples and their non-verbal and verbal communication and how it has evolves over time. How do we deepen the relationship we have?
Science and Data: Readers Digest says that "Divorce Rates are Declining. In fact, the chances of a first marriage lasting at least ten years were 68 percent for women and 70 percent for men, according to the National Survey of Family Growth. For the 20-year mark, the probability decreases to 52 percent for women and 56 percent for men." WHY? Do we end up being roommates the longer we are together? I believe investing in time with a partner, communication with a partner, developing friendship with a partner, deepening that connection with a partner are key ways to keep the relationship going. We all want companionship, deep connections, and trust. (If you do not, this is not the class for you.)
My specialization is the largest organ on the body: the skin. I became a licensed esthetician to help people take care of their skin concerns on a day to day basis. The things that interest me are what fly under the radar of a dermatologist. Day to day irritations, conditions that can be changed by the slightest habit change or ingredients. I do not diagnose disease. I CAN help you with looking your best. I digress. I became a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist, LMBT, because I understand that we are more than just skin suits and brains, organs and tissue, water and organic matter. The Science of touch has intrigued me for years. We are human beings with emotions, sensations, all in a beautiful human being package.
As a Certified Instructor, Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist, and Wellness Coach, I present to you the Partner Bodywork Experience.
